Chapter Nine

Root was standing in the construction corridor watching the two warships being built on each side of the corridor. “He should be here in a moment, Root.”

“Why are you sitting here, Your Majesty?”

“Danielle waved a hand, “Wouldn’t you sit outside an operating room if a member of your family was being operated on?”

Root raised his branches, “I didn’t consider that. You and the Kosiev are…”

“Family!” Danielle interrupted.

Tag walked through the entry door and smiled, “Hi, Root, it’s good to see you. What’s up.”

“We think that we’re ready to go and see if we can destroy a Yellow Warship.”

“By we, you mean you and your twin?”

“Yes.”

“Do you have the destruct button pressing exercise perfected?”

“Yes, it came down to putting a compressed appendage on each one and pushing simultaneously.”

“So, how do you see this being done?”

“I’ll take a Prime out, find a universe with Yellow Warships, and release my twin.”

“I don’t like that idea, Root.”

Root turned to Danielle, “Why not?”

“How many Algeans have twins?”

“Over half-million as of today,” Root answered.

“What happens when we decide to send millions of twins out to attack those hidden Yellow Fleets?”

“I’m not sure what you’re asking, Danielle.”

“Well, is every Algean going to go out in a Prime to release their twin?” Root hesitated and thought about the question. Danielle continued, “I know we can’t spare that many warships if the New Realm is attacked.”

Root focused on Danielle in silence and Tag interrupted his silence, “At the current growth rate of Algeans uniting with DECs, in three-years, more than a billion twins will exist. I know for absolute certainty we will not come anywhere near building that many Primes.”

“But I want to be there with my twin!”

Tag chuckled, “You’ve been insisting that where one of you goes, the other is present; or is that incorrect.”

Root’s branches lowered slightly, “No, that is true.”

“And it’s clear that distance, being in another universe or dimension, does not interfere with the mental connection between you and your twin,” Danielle interjected.

“What are you suggesting, Danielle?”

“When the time comes, we’re going to need to literally move hundreds-of-millions of twins. We’ve accelerated the construction of transports to move them to other universes. The Algeans will remain on their planets, or in their primes, and watch what happens from there.”

“If that’s the case, why have we started building a similar version of the Prime for us to use in the coming war?”

Tag started singing an ancient ditty, “Double your pleasure, double your fun, it’s Algean ships, Algean Twins, all rolled into one.”

Root turned to Tag, “What in the seven-blooming underworlds are you singing about?”

Danielle smiled, “He’s being silly; but he’s right. Our production of Primes had been slowed down due to the building and modification of the three-warships on the Defense Facility. The Elders suggesting the Algeans pick up the slack was an excellent suggestion. We’re going to need them if the New Realm is ever discovered by the Yellow Civilization.”

“However!” Root turned to Tag. “The Algean Primes will not enter the fight until their twin has attacked a Yellow Warship in those hidden universes.
